His and Hers art Exhibit at Sublime Opening Reception: Sunday, October 3rd from 1PM to 4PM

Artists  Nora Licht and Douglas I. Sheer art exhibit at the Sublime Salon &  Gallery, located at 1538 Route 212, Saugerties, New York. Opening Sunday October, 3rd from 1 to 4PM with show continuing for seven weeks.

His and hers art exhibit at Sublime features color Nora G. Licht and Douglas I. Sheer, a married couple, will display  new paintings at the Sublime Salon, which also functions as an art  gallery, in an exhibition opening Sunday October 3rd between 1 and 4PM. Refreshments will be served.  
The space is located at 1538 Route 212 in Saugerties, N. Y. just  beyond the border of Woodstock. There is ample parking.

Both artists are known as abstract colorists, with Licht’s work  focusing on patterning and decorative motifs and Sheer’s on gestural  expressionistic work. Both feature vibrant colors and playful darting  between opaque and transparent areas.   The couple resides in Woodstock. Both studied at the Woodstock  School of Art. They maintain separate studios at their Woodstock home.   Sheer studied painting at R.I.S.D. and The Art Students League. He  founded and has chaired the panel series Artists Talk on Art  (www.atoanyc.org) from 1974 through 2019. He is Chairman Emeritus. He  serves on three committees of Byrdcliffe; programming, exhibitions and  the Byrdcliffe Forum, which he leads. He also serves on the education  and public engagement committee of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at  SUNY New Paltz.   Licht graduated from Bryn Mawr College in French and Italian  languages and began her career working at the Museum of Modern Art  alongside future New York Times critic Roberta Smith in the curatorial  department. She worked in grant administration at The Ford Foundation  and taught school in the Hudson Valley.
